Veuve Clicquot's demi-sec champagne was one of the mainstays of the house's runaway success from the 19th Century right through to the 1930s. Blended largely from Pinot Noir grapes with the addition of Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier as well as reserve wines, the champagne has a generous amount of dosage or added syrup to sweeten its taste. Golden and sparkling with delicate bubbles, this demi-sec overflows with aromas of summer pudding, plum tart and brioche. Ultra seductive on the palate, this is a Champagne for all ages - at its best when served with desserts and just wonderful with pancakes.
