Only eight of the most prestigious Grands Crus make up this cuvée, produced in honour of Madame Clicquot the famous widow and entrepreneur of 19th century Champagne. Chardonnay grapes are sourced from the vineyards of Avize, Oger and Mesnil-sur-Oger in the Côte des Blancs region, while the Pinot Noir comes from the Grands Crus of the Montagne de Reims and the Grande Vallée de la Marne regions. Pinot Noir is the dominant grape producing a full-bodied champagne with delicate bubbles and aromas of flaky pastry and Grand Marnier. Crisp and delicious, the champagne is wonderful now but could be left a few more years in the cellar.
